Beginning Needle-Turn Applique

Needle turn appliqué yields the smoothest curves and provides the finesse to create the fine details. This class will help you master this relaxing approach to hand appliqué. Hand appliqué also allows you to take your sewing projects outside to the garden, the park or anywhere you wish. The pattern for the class project – Quail Hollow, pictured on the left – is provided with the class and will provide the opportunity to master the four elements of appliqué: convex and concave curves and points and valleys; alternatively, you can bring an appliqué pattern of your own choice with the appropriate fabrics or purchase Helene’s American Heartwood pattern, pictured on the right, published by Story Quilts Inc.  Click here for the class supply list
